Left pelvic kidney with megacystis
The left fetal kidney is located next to the urinary bladder, which is distended. This anomaly is also known as pelvic ectopia, with the pelvis being the most common site of renal ectopia. This finding is often associated with other systemic anomalies, warranting a careful search while performing the ultrasound scan. The fetal right kidney is normally located.
