Poll: Is the Pelvic Exam Important?

The American College of Physicians (ACP) has recommended against routine pelvic exams in women aged 21 and older who are not pregnant and have no complaints about anything “down there.” The ACP bases this recommendation on too little evidence that these exams have meaningful clinical benefit. Some physicians have even stated that these exams have become more of a “rite” than “right.”
