Hi OBGYN.netters,
I think by now most of you know about my broken leg (tibia). It's the same bone and the same place and the same leg as Bruce broke in January! Well we have become old hands at this leg elevated, ice packs, pain pills and Still Keep Working bit around the Speyer Home. aka Fen-Gold Manner, for the disabled.
OK, you all want to know how did I do it!!! Well I climbed up on the back of the moving van that has my precious belonging stored in it and as I was stepping back down I put my left foot on a step That Wasn't There! After free-falling through the air I landed on the ground and was hurting big time and surprised to find out I was even alive. Aaron, Roberta's son heard my call for help and ran for his mother. I guess Sis was just glad that I was alive after she found me and so the broken leg became somewhat of a blessing. I'll skip over the gory part about the paramedics and the ambulance ride to the hospital and just get to the point. I will be following right along in my dear brother-in-laws recent path. If you would like to read my Reflections about it you can check out The Saga of the Broken Leg.
The Big Cast goes on tomorrow. UGH!!!
Yes, it's my Birthday today and I am having a wonderful time :-) At this point the only thing I can say is I'm Glad I'm Alive to have one. My spirits are good because I am smart enough to know that if you make your care-givers mad you are in big trouble. Remember, I was a nurse. I also know there isn't a darn thing I can do about it and if I want to sit around and cry then that's just some more wasted time and this gal doesn't have time for that. Roberta has moved me into her office and I have access to the entire first floor from my brand-new wheel-chair.
And now to the third part of their title, ACOG...This stands for American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.. the biggest show of them all for ob/gyns and OBGYN.net. Every company that sells anything to any one interested in Women's Health is at this Conference. We are set to leave next Thursday and I was (am) planning to be a part of that show. I work the booth and meet new physicians and introduce them to OBGYN.net. I also plan to find a sponsor for the OBGYN.net Women/Patient section. We need one and we deserve one and by golly I'm going to get one! Now all I need is someone to put my wheel-chair in the cab! Anyone want the job?
