Cindy Curtis , RN , IBCLC
I am 34 years old and have been a registered nurse since 1986 and an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) since 1993.
I have worked with breastfeeding moms for over 10 years. I currently work in a small rural hospital in Virginia as a lactation consultant and staff nurse in labor and delivery, post partum and newborn nursery. I have worked in this position since 1989. I also run an in hospital Medela rental station.
I have been married for 12 years to a wonderful husband named Paul and have two beautiful, breastfed children. I had many difficulties breastfeeding them, and this is what led me to be a lactation consultant, so I could help other moms.
I am a member of ILCA (International Lactation Consultant Association) , CVLN (Central Virginia Lactation Network) and AWHONN (Association of Women's Health , Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses).
I will begin attending the University of Virginia in the fall of 1998 to complete my Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
