Barbara Nesbitt has been involved with OBGYN.net since it's conception. With the launch eighteen
months ago of the Women/Patients side of the web site she became responsible for content, the weekly update and
eventually writing a weekly column--"Barbara's Reflections". In February of 1997 the Women's Health Forum was added and she became a Moderator.
The forum has proven to be a place for women and medical professionals to seek and exchange medical knowledge.
It now has over 1200 postings a month.
In November of 1997 she took on the duties of Editor, OBGYN.net Women/Patients. This section has undergone tremendous
growth in the past year with the addition of original articles written by Medical Professionals, talk@OBGYN.net, and the formation of a separate Advisory
Board. The Women's Section of OBGYN.net is a mirror site to the Medical Professional section and has been a success
from day one drawing hundreds of thousands of women from around the world each month who have become faithful followers
of OBGYN.net.
In January of 1998 Barbara moved to Austin, Texas, World Headquarters for OBGYN.net and took over new duties as
Editor of OBGYN.net. Barbara is now responsible for the content on both the Medical Professional and Women/Patients and Special Sections of OBGYN.net. Special
Sections she has worked on are Pregnancy
and Birth, Perimenopause
/Menopause
and Chronic Pelvic Pain with new launches on the near horizon, Infertility and Urogynocology. Forming Editorial Advisory
Boards for Special Sections and working with them to insure quality is her top priory. Board members review each
update prior to launch, contribute feature articles, and give constant input; all of which makes this an OBGYN.net
peer review process.
She further enhances her contribution to OBGYN.net by her many years of experience as a licensed nurse and home
health care coordinator. She is continually focusing on the needs of the Ob/Gyn community and works closely with
medical professionals worldwide via email and by attending national and international trade shows and seminars.
Her prior experience as owner of the Nesbitt Company Inc., an Electronic Representative company in Texas, has given
her insight into business and management, both necessary in her new field.
Originally from Massachusetts and living in Texas for the past twenty years. When asked her thoughts on OBGYN.net
