Ultrasound Interactive Case Study: Fetal Frenulum

Case presentation by: Mary C. Scarboro RNC RDMS - December, 1998

This image was obtained during a routine scan on a 19 yo G2P1 @ 24/40wk. The prominent ligual structure caught my eye. I thought this was pretty neat and pointed this out to the parents as the baby's frenulum (I pointed to my own). At that point the father made the comment, "his big sister was born tongue-tied and had to have hers clipped". The remainder of the study was unremarkable as far as growth and structural anatomy.
