Full Term - The Fetal Fibronectin Test

Ashley Roman, MDDr. Ashley S. Roman has been a member of the faculty of the New York University School of Medicine since 2005. She is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is Associate Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at NYU. After graduating from Princeton University and receiving her MD and Masters in Public Health from Tulane University, she completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA Center for Health Sciences and her fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at NYU School of Medicine.

Dr. Roman has published widely in the area of preterm birth and is the author or co-author of over 70 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, and book chapters. Her research interests include the prediction and prevention of spontaneous preterm birth, and she has focused in recent years on the use of omega-3 fatty acids for preventing preterm birth. Dr. Roman has been the recipient of multiple research and teaching awards. Dr. Roman was selected by her peers to be included in the “Best Doctors in America” database for 2007-2008. Her areas of specialty and interest include preterm birth, preeclampsia, fetal diagnosis and therapy, and the management of complex maternal medical conditions in pregnancy, including lupus and maternal cardiac disorders.

 

Andrei Rebarber, MDDr. Andrei Rebarber is a board certified OB/GYN with Subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine. He completed his MFM Fellowship training at Yale University in 1997 and OB/GYN Residency at Beth Israel Hospital in 1995. Dr. Rebarbers’ academic record includes several book chapters, 42 published medical articles, and 94 abstracts presented at national medical society meetings, and 76 invited lectures/presentation. He has received grant support for research trials from several companies including Adeza Biomedical, Inc., and NTD Labs Inc. He has been inducted into “Guide to America’s Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists" by the Consumer’s Research Council of America from 2002-2007, physician peer nomination into “The Best Doctors in America” in the 2005-2006 edition, and physician peer nomination into “Castle-Connolly The Top Doctors: New York Metro Area” nationally published database 2005 and 2006 editions. He has been honored by the American Fertility Association, and the A T.I.M.E. Organization, for his community service and patient advocacy.

Dr. Andrei Rebarber conducts prenatal care and consults in a private office setting, (MFM Associates, PLLC). Teaching and research responsibilities with fellows, residents, and medical students are performed at Mount Sinai Hospital. He has been invited as a guest commentator on local and national television as well as radio programs on a wide range of obstetrical topics.

His current appointments include: President, Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates, PLLC & Carnegie Hill Imaging for Women, PLLC, Associate Professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NY, and Director of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Valley Hospital, NJ.
