Introduction
On the first of June 1961, "the pill" became available on the market. Today, 40 years later, it can be viewed as liberation for women. It led to a new orientation of women's status in society. The acquired freedom allows to choose the number of children women wish to have and the spacing between births. Today's modern woman - she would be impossible to imagine without the pill.

Apart from contraceptive efficacy, the pill also provides non-contraceptive benefits with short-term and long-term improvement of women's health.

Contraceptive options are increasing, but still, the pill gives women and their partners the most up-to date contraceptive care.

June 1st and 2nd Schering will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Pill in Berlin, Germany.

The presentations will be on www.OBGYN.net  following the event
