It is a pleasure for me to take this opportunity to inform you about the important role patient oriented societies & foundations can play in the constant fight to prevent osteoporosis. As a marketing and communications professional I work as director of the Dutch Osteoporosis Foundation.
The Dutch Osteoporosis Foundation started in 1992. We now have 2500 members/donators.
One of our major objectives is to inform the public and healthcare workers about the cause, the prevention and the treatment of osteoporosis.
For example we do that by means of:
- lay-public meetings,
- brochures,
- sufferer support,
- information booklets on various subjects,
- national osteoporosis weeks,
- telephone helpline,
- and so on
Via our quarterly magazine we inform our members and others about new insights in the field of osteoporosis.
For more information about the Dutch Osteoporosis Foundation, please visit our Dutch (!) website (http://www.medibyte.org/osteoporose) or send us a fax.
