OBGYN.net:  What is the mission of your association?

Ken: The purpose of the Radiological Society of North America is to promote and develop the highest standards of radiology and related sciences through education and research. The Society seeks to provide radiologists and allied health scientists with educational programs and materials of the highest quality, and to constantly improve the content and value of these educational activities. The Society seeks to promote research in all aspects of Radiology and related sciences, including basic clinical research in the promotion of quality health care. The Society seeks to foster closer fellowship among all radiologists and greater cooperation among radiologists and members of other branches of medicine and allied health care professionals.

The Radiological Society of North America is dedicated to the provision of continuing scientific education to radiologists, physicists and allied scientists. The goal of the Society has always been to make such educational opportunities available at nominal fees to cover costs. The Society has been successful in that goal only because of the high level of professionalism of its members and other colleagues, who generously share their scientific knowledge and administrative abilities.

OBGYN.net:  Please tell us about your membership.

Ken: Membership in RSNA has shown consistent growth. RSNA has 30,000 members -- radiologists, medical physicists, and allied scientists -- around the world.

The Society is dedicated to scientific education, providing continuing education to radiologists, physicists and allied scientists. The goal of the RSNA is to provide such education at nominal fees to cover costs. The Society has been successful in that goal only because of a high level of professionalism of its members and other colleagues who contribute generously of their scientific knowledge and administrative abilities.

Membership benefits include annual subscriptions to the official newsletter and journals of the Society, Radiology and RadioGraphics, and participation in the annual scientific assembly and refresher courses without fee.

OBGYN.net:  How are you better serving your membership with Internet Technology?

Ken: RSNA Link provides immediate, 24-hour access to information and educational resources.

OBGYN.net:  Why did you decide to build a web site?

Ken: To serve the members better.

OBGYN.net:  When was your site launched?

Ken: November 1994 (officially, at the RSNA 1994 annual meeting and scientific assembly)

OBGYN.net:  What has been the greatest advantage in using the Internet?

Ken: Convenience for members

OBGYN.net: What is the future goals of your organization on the Internet?

Ken: More interactive CME.
