The National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO) is the leading non-profit central resource for information about breast cancer and a network of more than 370 organizations that provide detection, treatment and care to hundreds of thousands of American women. Their Web Site will provide you with current information about breast cancer, updates on breast cancer-related events and activities, and links to other Internet sites.
NABCO's Coordinator of Information Services Jessica Fiorelli shared these insights with us.
OBGYN.net: How are you better serving your membership with Internet Technology?
Fiorelli: All of NABCO's informational resources are on-line, along with a direct e-mail link to the information specialists at NABCO, frequent updates on what's new in breast cancer, many links to breast cancer related sites, a bulletin board of breast cancer conferences and a calendar of breast cancer events and fundraisers nation-wide.
OBGYN.net: Why did you decide to build a web site?
Fiorelli: NABCO decided to build a web site as a means of better serving our members with timely information and also to reach a greater number of interested people with access to the Internet. NABCO's site was the first comprehensive site on breast cancer on the Internet.

Fiorelli: Our site was launched in October of 1995.
OBGYN.net: What has been the greatest advantage in using the Internet?
Fiorelli: Using the Internet has enabled us to reach a greater population of people touched by breast cancer, as well as to provide a much needed service - quick access to accurate information on all aspects of breast health and breast cancer.
OBGYN.net: What is the future goals of your organization on the Internet?
Fiorelli: NABCO plans to continue to expand our site with various projects related to information outreach, including more internet chats with breast cancer experts, the expansion of the NBCAM calendar to a year round effort, and the promotion of our breast health email reminder system.
