Overview of Congress
The Congress will feature new dimensions in gynecology and gynecologic
surgery. The theme of the 2001 Congress will be Advances in Gynecologic Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
The program will present an internationally distinguished group of clinicians and scientists, all whom have made
major contributions to the field of gynecologic endoscopy.
Emphasis will be on those areas where endoscopy is changing the
practice of gynecology, including oncology, urogynecology, and pelvic reconstructive surgery. Other areas of consideration
will include Infertility, Endometriosis, Pelvic pain, Myomectomy, and Hysterectomy.
Key portions of the program will be devoted to advances in operative
laparoscopy and operative hysteroscopy, as well as gynecologic imaging and medical gynecology. A series of Round
Table discussion will focus on evidence based endoscopy with a critical analysis of clinical studies. In addition
to the plenary sessions and the organized discussions, there will be ample opportunity for free communications,
video communications, and posters.
The Congress will present an opportunity for individuals with all levels
of endoscopic training to exchange ideas with colleagues and to learn from experts who will share their latest
findings, explain new techniques, and conduct discussions. We will be featuring new technology in endoscopy and
an extensive exhibit is planned to allow manufactures to show their latest equipment. A pre-meeting "hands
on" workshop is also in the making.
