What are your hysterectomy alternative questions? 

What is a hysterectomy?

A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of a women uterus.  It may or may not include removing the ovaries, cervix, and fallopian tubes.

What are the different types of hysterectomy's?

Complete or Total Hysterectomy - the uterus and cervix are removed
Supracervial Hysterectomy - the uterus is removed but the cervix is left.
Radical Hysterectomy - the uterus, cervix, upper part of the vagina, ovaries, fallopian tubes and supporting tissue are removed.

What are my alternatives?

Your alternatives will vary depending on your medical circumstances.  Alternatives could include, fibroid embolization, endometrial  ablation, and myomectomy. Check the Women's Health Forum for more information.
