Resad Paya Pasic, MD, PhDResad Paya Pasic, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Pasic is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Louisville, in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He is the Director of Division of Gynecologic Endoscopy and Co-Director of Gynecologic Endoscopy Fellowship at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health at the University of Louisville, where he is currently training his sixth AAGL/SRS fellow. He completed his medical school education and residency training in OB/GYN, his M.Sc. and Ph.D., at the Sarajevo University School of Medicine in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He concurrently pursued and obtained his Ph.D. from University of Louisville.

Dr. Pasic is certified in advanced laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and he is an international educator of gynecologic endoscopy. His passion for minimally invasive surgery is manifold. He has published three books on laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and minimally invasive surgery, respectively. He has published a number of scientific papers. He serves on the OBGYN.net editorial board and is an ad hock reviewer for several scientific journals. Dr Pasic has been a demanded speaker at conferences and courses from Australia, Brazil and India, to the Middle East and Europe. He has performed numerous live tele-surgeries world-wide, including a total laparoscopic hysterectomy at the Las Vegas 2003 AAGL Annual Meeting. He has authored many laparoscopic surgery films and has obtained the first prize for his film on “Placement and Removal of IUDs” from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology at its Annual Meeting Film Festival in 2006. Dr. Pasic has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the AAGL from 2003-2005. In November 2006, he was elected to the position of Secretary/Treasurer and in 2008, he will be its President. For more information about AAGL, please visit www.aagl.org.

Dr Pasic has served as faculty for a number of AAGL postgraduate courses. He is the Course Director of two AAGL courses - The Advanced Workshop on Gynecologic Laparoscopic Anatomy and Surgery on Unembalmed Female Cadavers; and Pelvic Anatomy and Laparoscopic Surgery for Gynecologic Oncologists, both held in Louisville, Kentucky. He also served twice as the Scientific Program Chair of the World Congress on Gynecologic Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
