OBGYN.net: 72,000 Visitors in October
WANT A JOB???
Be Careful What You Wish for...You Just May Get it!

November 5, 1997

Hello OBGYN.netters,

Last night I called the office to encourage Bruce to come home for dinner,
that's when I first heard the good news. We had 72,000 accesses from
visitors to OBGYN.net in October. I was stunned. We had 44,000 visitors in September and I had thought *that* was a lot. But 72K was a 60% growth rate far beyond my wildest dreams.

At first I was thrilled. Then I got scared. As silly as it sounds I started to feel, well, nervous. Who were all these people and what did they expect of me?

Sounds pretty silly I know. But...I have gotten so used to trying to succeed, trying to get visitors to OBGYN.net, trying to get sponsors. I'm used to trying. It's difficult, but I know how to do it. I guess I never wasted much time wondering what I'd do when I succeeded.

I started to think that is how so many of the OBGYN.netters must feel. All you women trying to have babies or find solutions to your medical problems. All those Residents and Students trying to get out there in practice. The doctors and researchers looking for cures and better treatment options. Trying and not even wanting to let yourself think of success. Almost as if thinking about it could somehow jinx things.

So, what do you do when you succeed? You suddenly find yourself having to switch gears. Instead of trying to have a baby...well, YOU HAVE ONE! It's crying in the next room and you have to deal with it!

Well our baby (OBGYN.net) is crying too. Every day brings new requests for information, additions and expanded resources. WHAT'S A MOTHER TO DO???

Time to get live in help...Call in the Aunties... HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

I'm looking to hire some web savvy OBGYN.netters to help us with the ever mounting task of searching the Internet for the best resources for our readers. These annotated links will then be turned over to our doctors and experts for their final approval.

The working conditions are great.
