Coming Soon!
It's time for a good spring-cleaning. Better late than never I say. July and August are Earmarked for a closer look at OBGYN.net !

June 1, 1998

Hello OBGYN.netters,

As Barbara and I sat in front of her monitor one night early this month looking at a page on OBGYN.net our jaws dropped, we turned and looked at each other and stared in shock. Then we broke into laughter. It was just too pitiful.

"New" it said of OBGYN.net Women and Patients that’s been up for a year and a half now.

Of Industry, that’s been going for a year now it said:

Coming Soon!

Oops. Better get that fixed right away…Bruuuuce????

I bring this to your attention not only because I obviously enjoy embarrassing myself at every opportunity but also because I believe it was the Internet equivalent to finding something green and fuzzy in your refrigerator. You must have thought it was good when you put it in there but WOW, it sure stinks now.

We decided right then and there that it was time to clean house from top to bottom at OBGYN.net. We started this process by initiating a through link update several moths ago that is still ongoing. We redesigned our main news pages two months ago. This week we redid the navigational footer to include Latina, Chat, and the Forums. We also initiated a daily instead of weekly update so we can add new items as they arrive.

Oh well then that’s all taken care of you might think…WRONG! It’s time to really get in and clean out all the nooks and crannies. OBGYN.net has gotten so big it’s easy to follow a nice neat little path through it and never go in some sections for months. So now it’s time to reexamine every inch of it with an eye to improvement. This is our project for July and August and we could certainly use your help.

If you are the Representative, Editorial Advisor, Board Member or Correspondent of a certain area please take the time to go look at your section and write and tell me any additions or corrections you would like to make. Check your CV or Biography to make sure it’s up to date too.

Have we lost touch with each other? Please write to me and let me know that you are still interested in participating if we haven’t been exchanging emails lately. If it’s time for some of you to pass the baton after all your work to get things started that’s understandable. Just let me know.

If you have been using OBGYN.net and think you would like to make a contribution to making it better please by all means do. If you see something that you think bears closer scrutiny please send me a message and include the URL.

Can we do something to improve our services to you and yours? Tell me what you would like to see.

We are starting to get more time and people to work on projects that we have wanted to do for a long time. So let’s take another look at some projects that had been put on the back burner last year when money and staff were so incredibly tight.

If you would like to get more involved or see an area for improvement then we want to hear that too. New ideas and the people that have them are like a breath of fresh air. We have some overworked "regulars" that would certainly appreciate the help.

Here as an example, are some items on my WISH LIST:

The Cochran database on OBGYN.net

An image upload program for the new Image library like the one on OBGYN.net Ultrasound

Improved and integrated web directory, CV generator, and career search database

A post card server of our very own

A Hospitality Home Exchange Database for people traveling to congresses

New Features sections on Urogynecology, Cytology and Colposcopy, Adhesions, PCOS, and Menopause

And of course the list goes on, and on, and on….

But first let’s take a little time this summer to take stock and get organized. Pretty soon September 13th will be here and OBGYN.net will be celebrating its second birthday (Coming Soon). My how time flies when you’re having fun and working on something you really love. In closing I want to state unequivocally that OBGYN.net is fantastic ALREADY. But every now and then a closer look is in order for all of us. July and August will be OBGYN.net's turn.

I really would appreciate any advice you could send and will certainly act upon it.

Fondly,
Roberta
