ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
If you've ever been turned down, ignored, frustrated, or angered by your insurance company, this is a meeting you
won't want to miss. Mary Halm is the voice of discouraged and exasperated patients everywhere. Her story is familiar
to many. When her endometriosis became severe, Mary was denied access to the care she desperately needed. Instead
of stopping with the denial, Mary decided to do battle. During the appeals process, she quickly learned how managed
care really operates. She kept track of every word that was spoken and every step that was taken. She now generously
shares her story and insight with others.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Mary Halm is the founder of the Managed Care Reform Movement and owner of Envision Web Pages. Since her battle
with her insurance company began, Mary has been interviewed by Time magazine, American News Service, Smart Money,
and New Woman magazine. She has participated in an HMO roundtable discussion on the television show, "Ohio
News Network" and has worked with state candidates to help pass laws that protect patients. She also maintains
a website dedicated to managed care reform called "How
To Fight Your HMO", and serves as webmaster for the Houston Support Group's website.
Mary Halm has turned anger into activism. And through her determination, courage, and integrity, she is committed to a better life for all of us.
