Medison
debuts new ultrasound scanner, SONOACE 8000
- Versatile functions, compact design -
[October
23, 2001] Seoul, Korea - Medison, the leader in 3D ultrasound today announced
its new SONOACE 8000 at the 11th International Society of Ultrasound
in Obstetrics and Gynecology meeting in Melbourne, Australia.
The
new SONOACE 8000 is a digital, multi-specialty ultrasound system that performs
excellent 2D image quality, versatile 3D functions, and digital image management
on a compact and ergonomically designed platform. Harmonic imaging, Pulsed
Inversion Harmonics, and multi-beam processing are the advanced technologies
that improve better resolution in abdominal and cardiac imaging. The system also
extends high sensitivity color Doppler and high-frequency imaging for all
applications’ purpose.
The
versatile and compact designed SONOACE 8000 addresses various clinical
applications, including abdominal, internal medicine, cardiac, small parts
imaging, and OB/Gyn imaging. The new system is divided into two different
versions: SONOACE 8000 Live and SONOACE 8000 EX.
SONOACE
8000 Live is more specialized for OB/GYN imaging with various 3D functions
reinforced. Live 3Dä
and volume 3D mode are available for abdominal and vaginal imaging. Live 3Dä
delivers 3D images in real-time at maximum four volume frames per second
performance. With the volume 3D probe supported, 3D data is reconstructed
automatically enabling accurate clinical diagnosis. The system delivers PW
Doppler, static and steered CW Doppler, and OSIOä
(Organ Specified Image Optimization). CAFEä
Plus provides high sensitivity, non-flash artifacts in color flow imaging. Also,
Microsoft Windows 2000 based operating system adds to easy clinical workflow.
“The
SONOACE 8000 Live especially provides diagnostic accuracy and economic value in
ultrasound imaging for women’s health. Based on outstanding digital imaging
performance plus unrivaled Live 3D capability, this versatile system guarantees
high efficiency yet still an affordable investment,” said JH Lee, managing
director of International Business Unit for Medison.
SONOACE
8000 EX incorporates every function that is available on the SONACE 8000 Live
except 3D functions. The system offers compact configuration for internal
medicine and shared service applications. SONOACE 8000 EX cannot be upgraded to
SONOACE 8000 Live due to their different hardware architecture and probe
connectors.
“As
the SONOACE 8000 offers different range of options, customers have choice to
select best performance system that fits their specialized application
configuration at the most affordable price,” said JH Lee.
The
SONOACE 8000 supports three active probe ports for wide range of probe. Each
probe delivers high resolution imaging with excellent penetration providing
extensive clinical flexibility.
Digital
image management is available on the SonoView II and SonoView Pro. SonoView II
is built-in software that runs on the system; while SonoView Pro is additional
software for PC that enables remote image management even after the patient has
left the office. The two programs handle images of 2D, 2D CINE, 3D, and 3D CINE
under the same user-interface. Image archiving, retrieving, printing, and
measuring are available on the SonoView II and SonoView Pro.
The
SONOACE 8000 is first introduced at the ISUOG meeting and will be first shipped
from December 2001.
