Upon receiving this award for 2005, Terry J. DuBose said, " I can only accept the award as representative of the entire faculty and clinical instructors who really make our program work. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Diagnostic Medical Sonography program exists in the College of Health Related Professions, one of six colleges in the university."

In explaining how the program at UAMS works, Terry stated, "The DMS Program is highly involved in distance education using an interactive video network to provide live lectures between our three campuses in Little Rock, Texarkana, and Fayetteville Arkansas during the student's junior year. In the senior year the DMS course work is all
Web based, which allows us to use more outlying clinical educational sites. The UAMS DMS program is accredited (CAAHEP.org) in abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, echocardiography, and vascular sonography. We grant a Bachelor of Science Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography."
