• Won a free scholarship which lasted throughout the medical education, because of his success during the first year (1986).
• First place in the language examination (English) organized by Turkish Medical Students Association (TURKMSIC) for foreign exchange (1989).
• Top ten in the Turkish Medical Specialty examination (1991).

Non-business activities

One of the founding members of Society of Konya College Graduates. Also worked as General Secretary for about six months in the same society (1990 - 1991). Played keyboards in a rock band named "Ecstasy" for two years during the third and fourth years of medical education. Was also a member of Hacettepe University Music Club. The band performed rock concerts at several festivals of various universities of Ankara (1986 - 1989).

Experienced with IBM-compatible computers, mostly as a user and in part as a programmer. Experienced with MS-Winword 6.0, MS-Powerpoint 4.0, MS-Excel 5.0, SPSS 6.0, Epi Info., various scientific graphics, statistical and desktop publishing software (for example, Aldus Pagemaker 5.0). Also experienced with all types of communication via computers (networks, modem, including Internet).
