My
Story
  • I had PCOS for 10 Years before detection
  • Diagnosed on November 1, 1998
  • My Birthday is Tuesday, January 28, 1969
  • I live in Toledo, Ohio USA
I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 1/2 years ago when I got married. Prior they just had me on Birth control pills to normalize my periods then when I got married and wanted stop taking the Pill because I wanted to get pregnant and because I had these "out of body" experiences (crying all the time) when I was taking the pill. So, my Dr. just had me take proverah every other month if I did not have my period on my own. About 4 months ago they tested my insulin and found it to be twice the normal. I was put on glucopahge for the past 4 months and had a re-test My Dr. called today and said my insulin is going up a she does not know why. I have been an emotional mess all day. I am searching the net for as much information as I can find. I will be contacting a reproductive endocrinologist tomoorrow and I am sure begin the up hill battle of having any treatment covered by insurance. I was very angry today, I felt like I was a defective product, But I am ready to move on, to find help.
