I have had extremely severe menstrual cramps since my teenage years, and no one knew why. A laparoscopy 2 years ago didn't show anything, so they diagnosed me with IBS (which I do have) and that was it. 3 months ago, I was stricken with horrible abdominal pains, resulting in my having to go to the ER a few times and take narcotic painkillers. I had to go on leave from law school in my first semester of my first year, and was rendered unable to do much of anything. (Due to this, I began making jewelry at home, and have now started my own business.)

A more recent laparoscopy showed many tiny cysts, especially on my left ovary...Turns out the PCOS and IBS have been triggering each other, hence the severity of the pain. The cysts weren't showing up on ultrasounds either until very recently.

Now I have a diagnosis, and am being treated, but I don't know when I can really expect to get "better"...
