| This is the BBII analysis of the measurements for DR. JOE ANTONY's case we have been discussing, "microcephaly". In this analysis the AC is included and appears to be quite large, and the head relatively small in comparison to the femur length. In light of these relationships, it appears there should be the consideration of fetal infections of the TORCH varieties. |

In this analysis the AC is not included. In this analysis the transverse head circumference is trailing the femur length by less than 2.0 SD... which makes it look small but more normal. The question seems to come to how reliable is the femur length in this case? The question of TORCH type infections is still a consideration. Though, I agree with Dr. Smeltzer, I have never seen a case of microcephaly in association with TORCH that did not also exhibit ventricular dilation. Comments: |
