Ultrasound Interactive Case Study: Embryonic Heart Rate @ 8 weeks

Italian embryos have the same heart rate as Texans! During the 1980's we worked out the following regression on a Texas population:
Age in days = EHRx0.3+6

Wolfgang Moroder, M.D. and I discussed this relationship and he just sent me the CRL and embryonic heart rate (EHR) for an Italian Embryo.

The CRL is 22 mm which equates to 59 days post LMP. The EHR was 175 B/M.

And 175(0.3)+6 = 58.5 days! There is very little difference in our population of Texans and this young Italian.

Thanks, Dr. Moroder for this little demonstration and a great image.
